STEAM Education, Activities & Camps
Pinnguaqās Makerspace in Lindsay is the hub for STEAM education, summer camps, after school programs and more in the Kawartha Lakes.
Itās filled with robots, maker kits, oozing oobleck, Minecraft marvels and some of the best STEAM educators in Canada. Itās also a community hub where people of all ages can learn about and embrace the power that STEAM creates, in their own lives, in their own way.
Why do we have a Makerspace? And why is it in Lindsay?
Wellā¦ why not? We believe that rural, remote and Indigenous communities should have the same access to world-class technology and education that those in urban centres enjoy. Geography shouldnāt be a barrier, and curiosity should be the only requirement.

STEAM Discovery Day
Saturday Drop-In, Year Round
Itās not a class, itās an adventure ā stop by the Makerspace on Saturdays throughout the year and discover science, technology, engineering, art and math experiences for youth aged 6ā13. Parents are welcome to stay and play or drop kids off (dependent upon volume of attendees). Itās a different experience, and a different FUN activity every week!
STEAM Skill Build
After School Programming
Youth aged 6ā13 can launch rockets, create video games, program robots to clean their rooms and conduct scientific experiments that may or may not involve things exploding. STEAM Skill Builds are held on the same day each week, typically for five weeks, and last for 90 minutes each. Participants develop new science, technology, engineering, art or math skills, within their area of interest.

Summer Programming, Winter Programming
Build knowledge, friendships and a HECK of a lot more ā with Ampere! Our STEAM Creator Camps bring learning to life for youth ages 6-13. Each camp has its own theme, from engineering, to arts and science to game development. Unlock your childās imagination (and inner mad scientist).
